I’VE SPENT MY CAREER TRYING TO UNDERSTAND ARTISTS.
I started in music working directly with artists, first with DJ Shadow and later as the first employee at Fame House, where I helped build the company from an early-stage startup into a global music marketing and artist services company that was eventually acquired by Universal Music Group.
Along the way, I worked with artists and teams including Eminem, Alicia Keys, Pearl Jam, Tiësto, Richie Hawtin, Tom Holkenborg, and others… across marketing, technology, audience development, partnerships, and strategy.
But eventually, working for artists wasn’t enough.
I founded ArtistPro to help independent musicians navigate the business and creative realities of building a career. That work eventually led me into the classroom, teaching music business and artist entrepreneurship — today at UCLA Extension.
And somewhere along the way, I crossed to the other side of the table.
I became the artist.
Today, I create and perform electronic music as RIŽIK, compose for film and games, and develop live work centered around musicianship, improvisation, and the relationship between humans and technology.
So I’ve experienced the artist relationship from a lot of angles: working for artists, building companies around artists, developing artists, teaching artists — and being one myself.
That’s the perspective I bring to my work today.
I help companies better understand artists, build trust with creative communities, and create products, partnerships, and programs that actually make sense for the people they’re trying to reach.
